Course Description

For those who've completed Getting Started: Series 1, which covered The Four Noble Truths and their implications, you can now start to broaden and deepen your understanding. By now you have already begun to set up causes and conditions for your awakening to the Buddha's real and logical insights, and are feeling the effects of your work in your daily life. In this six week series, we will begin our study of the Noble Eightfold Path. This is the Buddha's prescription for creating the causes and conditions for awakening. We will pay special attention to Right View, the first item of the Eightfold Path. This will include the four main aspects of Right View: 1. Cause & Effect and Karma, and the differences between them 2. Impermanence and it's implications 3. Dependent Arising - the most profound view 4. Emptiness (this is not Nothingness) The Noble Eightfold Path 1. Right View 2. Right Resolve 3. Right Speech 4. Right Conduct 5. Right Livelihood 6. Right Effort 7. Right Mindfulness 8. Right Samadhi
